Memory is a strange and wonderful thing. It grounds us in many ways, setting the terra firma on which we build our lives, whether that ground is smooth and easy, or rough and full of stones and pitfalls. Memories serve as the guideposts and foundation of our belief systems, our sense of right and wrong, and our measures of joy, sadness, fear, love. And memories are also fragile.
How do we proceed when we lose those memories? Or when someone we love experiences that loss? How do we hold onto our memories? And do they matter to others? This service will explore the ways we cherish our memories and offer some reflections on grace, courage, and compassion.
