What Will You Experience?

FPBUU Covenant Groups meet on one designated weekday each month, October through May, for 1.5 to 2 hours.  Groups of 8-10 members share personal reflections and experiences framed by the themes from the UUA Soul Matters program materials.  Covenant Groups are a unique ministry – not a therapy group, a study group, or a discussion group.  Members practice “deep listening” to bond with each other and “open our hearts” together without critique, response, or cross-talk.

Each group has two trained facilitators from the congregation who meet monthly with other facilitators to discuss how to conduct, deepen, and expand Small Group Ministry.  Covenant Groups are a great way for new and old members of the congregation to get to know each other at a deeper level.  Our seven groups include all-zoom, hybrid (combined in-person and Zoom), and all-in-person, with a choice of mornings, afternoons, or evenings.

2023-2024 Monthly Themes

The Soul Matters overarching frame this year will be “The Gifts of Our Faith.”  We’ll focus on many beloved UU values and explore their potential to shape us and in turn shape the world.

How do these values offer us both challenge and comfort?  Group members will receive a session agenda each month prior to meeting, with materials that include focus questions and spiritual exercises for group sharing.  Our Themes: October: Heritage,  November: Generosity,  December: Mystery,
January: Liberating Love, February: Justice & Equity, March: Transformation,
April: Interdependence, May: Pluralism
