Getting to know our Neighbors! This inspiring day will begin with the morning service featuring a Wampanoag historian and musician, and will continue with:
· the Wampanoag Singers and Dancers performing after the service;
· tribal craftspeople, educators, and organizations exhibiting in the Parish Room, including a crafts activity for children of all ages; and
· a chance to sample Wampanoag food prepared by Ladyslipper Catering.

Featuring Mashpee Wampanoag artist, poet, and author ROBERT PETERS.

Robert Peters draws heavily on two traditions: his Wampanoag heritage and his African American lineage. He is known for his visual art in painting and sculpture , as well as his poetry and writing, authoring a children’s book, Da Goodie Monsta in 2009 which is based on a story his son told him. Other work includes Thirteen Moons Calendar: A Meditation on Indigenous Life, murals, screenplays and a stage play.

Peters is also a tribal fire keeper and a keeper of oral tradition.
