Listening to the Seeds

My husband Scott and I have friends who are organic farmers.  They’ve ran a very successful regional organic/heirloom seed business for a decade.  This summer, they shut it down.  They are done with the capitalistic market economy and all it represents.  And they are now participating in the “gift economy.”  Not a barter or bitcoin economy, but gift.  Their journey profoundly shaped my summer.  They’ve helped me try to listen to the whispering of voices that pull me into better alignment with my values.  I’m hoping the whispering is contagious, my friends, if we would just let it be so.
