On Memorial Day, I often find myself asking: “How does one give a ‘true’ Memorial Day Sermon?”  A sermon that doesn’t contain the fiction and mythology of war, but gets to the heart of the struggle of what the day is meant to do and the reasons we have such a hard time both holding and receiving the real non-fictionalized version.
