I am often stopped short, surprised even on how our imagination can play tricks on us. When life shows up with loss, betrayal, disappointment, failed dreams or deep wounds, how my imagination freezes, tells me this is how life will be, shrouded, cloudy, rough around the edges. I’ve carried around a quote by one of my favorite poets, Brian Andreas, that says: “Anyone can slay a dragon, but try waking up every morning and loving the world all over again.” That, dear ones, seems to me is the challenge of life and one worth addressing in this month of Imagination.
