The Longing To Belong

All of us long to be recognized for our gifts, to be welcomed in love and kinship, to feel in service to something greater than ourselves, and to live in magic and wonder.  But though it governs so much, belonging is rarely spoken about in the open.  Like grief, death, and inadequacy, we are led to believe that to feel unbelonging is shameful and should be hidden from view.

Join Worship Associates Lindsey Straus and Margaret Rice-Moir as they explore the different faces of belonging, from the alienation, the sense of unbelonging so many of us feel despite of, or perhaps as a result of,  today’s “connected” world, to the longing we have to be part of a community, beginning with our families, to the spiritual longing to belong to a set of ways or traditions, to the longing to know and participate in ancestral knowledge, to the longing to belong to “something greater” which gives our lives meaning.
