Our first Principle declares the inherent worth and dignity of every person (a Universalist teaching). Some might argue, taking note of the awful things humans do. Could we be wrong? If not, how do we account for the innocent baby, held in motherly arms, growing into a a mean, nasty, evil soul? Which asks the question: Is evil inherent to some? If not, how free are each of us to choose to be “good” or otherwise? Musings on the nature/nurture debate.
